Nestled near the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry terminal in Oban, The Green Shack, also known as Oban Seafood Hut, is a must-visit spot for both locals and tourists. Established in 1990 by fisherman John Ogden, this charming hut is renowned for serving some of the freshest seafood on the west coast of Scotland.

The Oban Seafood Hut offers a variety of freshly prepared seafood, including lobster, scallops, crab, mussels, langoustines, prawns, smoked salmon, and herring. For a real treat, try their popular seafood platters, such as the ‘Grand Platter’ or the ‘Platter for Two,’ which showcase an assortment of the finest local seafood.

While there is limited seating available under a small awning, many visitors opt to take their seafood to nearby benches or enjoy a picnic by the water, taking in the stunning views. Whether you’re dining in or taking away, you’re guaranteed a true taste of Scotland’s coastal delicacies.

The Oban Seafood Hut is open daily from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, from March to November, making it an ideal stop while exploring the beautiful town of Oban. Be sure to check the current opening times before your visit.
