We love the great outdoors more than anyone – but we’re caffeine junkies too and if that comes with a side-order of homemade cake, well, who are we to argue?
On your doorstep
Just round the corner you’ll find JJ’s cafe – a quirky spot that’s great for a bite of breakfast and also has a book exchange and kids’ toy area. A smidge further but still a short walk from the park you’ll find the Highland Soap Company – great for last-minute gifts and home to a fab little cafe too.
Cafes in Caol
For amazing cakes and great value yummy fare all round, check out hidden gem Bake’n’Roll.
Fort William High Street
You’re spoilt for choice in centre of Fort William; we love Aroma and Cobbs. Rain Bakery is a recent addition, serving up famazing homemade cakes and artisan loaves – sit in or takeaway. Hungry meat eaters should snaffle a pork roll at the the Hot Roast Company while vegans won’t want to miss the Wildcat.
Fassifern Road
A block or so back from the High Street you’ll find Fassifern Road which offers up a great choice of places. The Fort Coffee Collective serves up what’s been described as the best coffee in Fort William, while the Hub offers delicious homemade cakes and scones. If you’re tackling the walls at 3 Wise Monkeys Climbing, do ‘hang around’ for a coffee and a bite. The converted church location makes it pretty special.
